New York City Summer Intern Housing & Meals

Our summer housing facilities in New York City offer the convenience and comfort necessary for an easy transition into living in the big city. Participants will never feel alone in the big city, as they will reside among hundreds of other participants who together will take advantage of all that our program and city have to offer.
Interns will reside at the fabulous New School University's 13th Street Residence Hall, a seven-story city landmark facility. This Greenwich Village residence is just steps away from Union Square, Astor Place, and Washington Square Park. Career Explorations is proud to be the sole tenant of the 13th Street Residence Hall during our summer program!
Location
The 13th Street Residence is located at 118 West 13th Street between 6th & 7th Avenues. This fantastic, tree-lined street places you just a block away from Union Square Park and Union Square Subway Station.
Features
This centrally-located, air-conditioned facility offers internet, phone, and TV service in each room. Your furnishings will include a long twin bed, desk, chair, dresser, and wardrobe. The majority of our rooms are doubles; in the spring, you will be offered our ‘CE lifestyles' questionnaire to help us to place each of our students with an appropriate roommate that complements your living preferences and you will enjoy spending time with. Multiple private bathrooms are easily accessible on each floor. Large common lounge areas make it easy to hang out with your friends!
At the 13th Street Residence, you will have full access to:
- Internet, cable TV, and phone service in your room
- Common Lounges
- Art Studio
- Laundry facilities
- Outdoor private courtyard
Security
Entry to the 13th Street Residence Hall is restricted to residents and authorized guests only and is monitored by a 24-hour security desk. Guests must present proper photo-identification to security and be escorted by residents at all times.

Meals
You will have two meals per day at the New School dining hall. Interns are responsible for their lunch on workdays.
Transportation
Our New York participants will receive a subway card to get to and from work each day, as well as transportation throughout the 4 weeks of the program for activities sponsored by Career Explorations.
*Transportation to and from the program is NOT included.
24/7 Onsite Staff Assistance
Your Personal CE Advisor will live in the dorm and support you in your internship and all other aspects of your summer experience. The CE staff is dedicated to delivering a high-quality experience to enable both your professional and personal growth. Staff members will serve as your program guides, leading you to program events and providing you all of the up-to-date informaiton you need to maximize your summer experience! They will be available at all times to ensure your summer in the city is as safe as possible.
