New York Program Events, Seminars, & Networking

The New York Internship Program events are one of the most popular features of our program. The events are planned to give you full exposure to your new city, while combining travel, with many of the most popular attractions in the city. Although your summer will be filled with gaining valuable work experience, it is very important that you gain the full experience of living in New York City, and our events will do just that. The following are just a few examples of activities from past programs, and the full roster of summer 2010 activities will be announced later in the year.

Tour of the City

See the iconic Hollywood sign, which was originally just a real  estate agency's PR stunt- oh, how it worked!Welcome to the city that never sleeps! For your first weekend with us, we would like to get you acquainted with your new “home!” During this event, we will be riding in style on the top deck of a Double Decker to learn all about the history of this town, how it got the name of the “Big Apple” and what is native to a New Yorker from Manhattan. You will get a glimpse of the Empire State Building, Ground Zero, Wall Street, Rockefeller Center, and Lincoln Center just to name a few. You can make any notes on sights that you may want to go back and visit in further depth. You will not want to miss out on learning all about your new home for the next two months! You’ll get a chance to dine at a restaurant in Times Square with hundreds of new friends. Come join us as we get settled here in the city that never sleeps.

Yankees Game

They were also the first team to start a Korean player, pitcher  Chan Ho Park, and the first Taiwanese player, Chin-Feng ChenGo Yankees! Come join us as we celebrate one of America's favorite past times. We hope that you are just excited as we are to experience the brand new Yankees Stadium! While some of will mourn the demolition of "the House that Ruth Built," others anxiously await to experience the vibe, roar and energy of a slamming new stadium! Join us at a Yankees game in the Bronx and you will truly understand why New Yorkers are so united under the Yankees' contagious spirit! Bask in the sun with your fellow participants and experience Yankees Stadium!

Evening in New York

Make sure to pack a cute swimsuit for your summer in Los Angeles!

One of the biggest attractions of New York City is Broadway, with shows that glitter the theatres of Times Square. Join us this evening as we experience the dazzling lights and phenomenal shows that have graced the stages of Broadway for decades. Come relax and take in the storylines that will keep you mesmerized for hours as you fall in love with the characters. This is an evening you will not want to miss!

From the stages that brought you comics such as Chris Rock, Dave Chapelle, Dane Cook, Jerry Seinfeld and Rosie O’Donnell, a New York City comedy club will allow you to let loose some endorphins! Laugh the night away as we take the whole group to experience an event showcasing the talents of an up-and-coming local comedian or, if we are lucky, a show stopping big-name comic! We will kick off this evening with an enjoyable sit-down dinner to prep our bellies for a night full of laughter! You don’t want to miss this!

Overnight to DC

There are so many things to do in Vegas like taking a ride in a  gondola at the Venetian HotelJoin us for a weekend in DC and get captivated in the history that has built this great nation! You’ll have the opportunity to see the White House, walk through the hallways of the Smithsonian museums, the Washington Monument, the WW2 Memorial, and the Lincoln Memorial. You will be humbled by the sizes of these monuments and have the opportunity to reflect and learn about the history of our great country. In the evening, you may arrange to have dinner with your friends, and go out on the town. Georgetown is hip, fun and popular among young people, so you’ll find much to do and will have a lot of fun this weekend!

Dinner Dance Cruise

You may just see Bumble Bee patrolling the streets of Los AngelesPicture this - all of your closest friends are all decked out in their best black, white, or red attire for a classy event on a luxurious cruise boat on the waves of the Hudson. Escape from the hustle and bustle of the city, and revel in this sunset cruise. We will disembark from Chelsea Piers and begin with a delectable dinner followed by dancing the evening away to some of your favorite songs. When you need a breather from cutting a rug on the dance floor, take a step outside and get a bit of fresh air on the balconies while taking in the breathtaking views of the Manhattan’s skyline and New York City's greatest landmarks, including the Statue of Liberty. This event is one of the biggest hits of the summer!

Unsponsored Events

To help you build your friendships and get more comfortable with the city, the staff will continuously be planning unsponsored activities for the entire group to take advantage of. These activities are optional, but they will make sure to get you acquainted with your new city, as well as keep your social calendar full.

Seminars & Networking

The New York Speaker Series occurs once per week after work where industry professionals share their success stories and outline the essential aspects of preparing for life after college. The Speaker Series is a valuable aspect of the Internship Program, as it allows you to gain insight from industry professionals. Additionally, you will spend time building your professional network, as you will have time to talk with each at the end of their speech.

The purpose of the series is to give you a broader perspective, while inspiring you to think about what career you wish to pursue. Below is a snapshot of a few of the guest speakers we have hosted at previous programs.
